He moved to Oklahoma in 1996 to attend the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in meteorology with a minor in mathematics. As a student, he received an undergraduate scholarship and a graduate fellowship from the American Meteorological Society for academic excellence. Marc attended graduate school at OU for about a year after finishing his undergraduate studies before beginning his career in television in 1999.

Weinberg works with WDRB News where he serves the station as a Chief Meteorologist. The Connecticut native lived there for about ten years before moving to Massachusetts. When he was a student, he was awarded an American Meteorological Society undergraduate scholarship and graduate fellowship for academic excellence. After his undergraduate work, he went on to graduate school at OU for about one year before beginning his career in television in 1999.
In his time working at OU, he was also fortunate to get involved in numerous research projects with the “Doppler on Wheels” team. This projects also include a lot of tornado chasing and hurricane chasing all over the country. He states that since severe weather has always been a huge passion in his life, storm chasing became a part of his life.
Since Marc had begun chasing all types of weather in the year 1996, he has also witnessed 54 tornadoes and three major hurricanes, which include two F-5 and three F-4 tornadoes. Among the videos he shot in October 1998, he gained national attention and landed him on the David Letterman Show and Maury Povich Show.
The month of May 1999 saw him witness a mile-wide F-5 tornado hitting Oklahoma City. This video became one of the most well-known tornado videos of all time. Within three days, the video had aired all over the world, and Marc had appeared on Montel Williams, The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Weather Channel, CNN, CBS This Morning, and CBS Evening News with Dan Rather.
He states that this is, however, not the reason he remembers May 3rd, 1999. While standing a quarter mile away from 318 mph winds and watching homes swept off the face of the earth changed him. Later on, from that point, he wanted to use his skills to become a part of the warning process. He is in the summer of 199 and took a job in television at KSWO in Lawton, Oklahoma. The year 2001 saw him move to KTHV located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Away from work, he enjoys working on his car, chasing severe weather, and bodybuilding.
